Project Brief
Students were expected to conceptualise, design, apply, and comprehend corporate graphics in relation to specific objects and environments, ensuring the seamless extension of a brand's visual identity in a particular industry.
Our client operates a food truck business that targets a specific audience and requires tailored branding across multiple media platforms for presentation at food markets and similar events. We are tasked with creating a fun and imaginative name for our business, deciding on the cuisine or type of food they offer. To make the brand truly local, all branding and communication must be executed in any South African language (official languages, Mengels, Afrikaaps, Fanakalo, etc.) and cannot be in English.
The client aims to participate in Cape Town’s top food markets, while also catering for weddings and other functions.

Concept and Direction
Wynvlieg, derived from the playful term ‘bar fly,’ is a quirky and vibrant Afrikaans food truck that captures the spirit of wine culture in South Africa. Specialising in serving some of the country’s most popular wines alongside a curated selection of delicious tapas, Wynvlieg brings an indulgent yet laid-back experience to wine lovers and foodies alike. This mobile kitchen can be spotted at some of the trendiest markets across the Mother City.
Whether you are in the mood for a crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc or feeling adventurous enough to pair a bold red with savory bites, Wynvlieg always has something to satisfy your cravings. The truck is the perfect stop when you’re not quite sure what you want to eat or drink, because wine and tapas – a match made in culinary heaven – is always a great idea. Wynvlieg brings people together through the joy of sharing good food, fine wine, and a little bit of fun.
