Description (View/Hide)
Background & brief:

The Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK) is a prominent South African arts festival that takes place annually in Oudtshoorn, located in the Klein Karoo region of the Western Cape. Established in 1994, the KKNK is the largest Afrikaans-language arts festival and serves as a platform for a wide range of artistic expressions, including theatre, music, visual arts, dance, literature, and film.

We were tasked with the conceptualisation and roll-out of the creative campaign for the KKNK 2025, which took place between 1 and 6 April.

Insight & concept:
Sometimes you just crave a little… something.
Life is crazy and busy, and you just need something to feel better/calm/fulfilled again.
You don’t always know what that something is—until you see it.
It’s a specific need that has to be met. An itch that needs to be scratched.
No matter what kind of “something” you’re craving, you’ll find it at the KKNK - SA’s oldest and biggest Afrikaans arts festival.

Idea:

KKNK 2025.
Al die ietse

Translation:

KKNK 2025.
All the things

The work
In this TVC, we utilise the clever and whimsical visual device of miniature figurines, brought to life through stop-frame animation. Paired with a highly energetic VO, we cram as many “ietse” (things) into 30 seconds as possible, highlighting the abundance of the KKNK’s arts and entertainment offerings.
