Kuzobalula - It gets easier with Alula

Description (View/Hide)
In isiZulu, the idiom ukuzala ukuzelula literally means, "to give birth is to stretch one's bones." It speaks to the physical and emotional demands of parenting on the one hand, and the continuation of legacy on the other.
While it acknowledges that the stretching is not easy, it is ultimately an expression of immense pride and joy. It is often shouted from the rooftops when a child graduates, gets married, supports their family, or continues to uphold the dignity of the family
name. Our voice performance needed to capture the duality at the heart of this idiom. It had to bring to life the very real challenges of raising a spirited four-year-old, without losing sight of the joy, love and pride that make those challenges worthwhile.
In this intimate end-of-day moment between a mother and toddler, the mother playfully teases the child about how difficult it is to raise them.

Uyamteketisa.

She speaks with tenderness and affection using terms of endearment and gentle teasing. While she openly acknowledges the challenges of parenthood, every word is underpinned by deep love, pride and delight in the child she is raising. She places emphasis on lula ("easy"), creating a beautiful crescendo into the brand name, Alula. This transition naturally reinforces the brand promise: helping parents navigate a demanding journey with a little more ease.
