The Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees, or KKNK, is South Africa’s biggest Afrikaans arts festival.
And in 2026, it turned 30.
Three decades of theatre, music, art and unforgettable festival moments.
For this milestone birthday, we didn’t just want to look back.
We wanted to kick off the next 30 years, and show that this festival is still going strong.
Our idea was simple:
KKNK 2026. Voluit!

A tongue-in-cheek invitation to festivalgoers, old and new, to live their best festival lives.
We wanted the campaign to feel as much a part of the Karoo as the festival itself.
So, we turned the humble cross-stitch into the visual thread running through KKNK 2026.
But we didn’t just make it look handmade.
We worked with local Karoo sewists, knitters and crochet experts to create it by hand first.
Their stitches, textures and techniques inspired an entire visual language.
And in 2026, it turned 30.
