Description (View/Hide)
Knor is a playful wellness brand centred on an interactive bowel movement tracking app. The app allows users to log, visualise, and understand their gut health in a humorous, approachable way, supported by infographics and illustrated characters. To extend engagement, Knor also included a sign up membership kit, which packaged the brand’s identity into tangible items such as stickers, calendars, and print collateral.
The project required students to conceptualise and develop a marketable product using printmaking techniques combined with illustration and design. The outcome had to present a consistent visual language while applying infographic thinking to make researched data clear, engaging, and accessible.
Illustration was the backbone of the project. The student used lino printmaking techniques, carving designs by hand, printing them in black ink, and refining them digitally to create a tactile, handcrafted aesthetic. These illustrations became the foundation of the app’s playful interface and the membership kit’s collateral.
The illustrated “poop patrol” characters and humorous icons transformed gut health into something light-hearted and relatable. Infographics were illustrated with bold shapes and vibrant colours (yellow, blue, orange), turning data about diet, probiotics, and digestive habits into accessible visuals. The collage like layering of text, icons, and characters created rhythm and engagement across both digital and physical touchpoints.
The final rollout delivered a cohesive illustrated brand system that seamlessly connected the app with its membership kit. By merging handcrafted printmaking with digital refinement, Knor positioned itself as a humorous yet educational wellness brand. The strong emphasis on illustration and interactive design made gut health approachable, memorable, and marketable, breaking taboos while building community around a playful identity.
