Description (View/Hide)
The project required students to conceptualise and develop a marketable product using printmaking techniques combined with illustration and design. The outcome had to include products presented within a consistent visual language, communicating a clear concept while applying traditional or experimental printmaking media. Additionally, infographic thinking was used to transform researched data into engaging visualisations, prioritising clarity and interaction over narrative.
Knor positions gut health “on the throne,” blending humour with wellness education. The brand and app provide products and honest information about digestion in accessible, local language. The playful identity uses poop related characters, slogans, and infographics to make a taboo subject approachable, interactive, and culturally relevant.
The creative direction combined handcrafted lino printmaking with digital refinement. Logos and illustrations were carved, printed in black ink, scanned, and polished in Illustrator, giving the identity a tactile, authentic quality. A bold colour palette of yellow, blue, and orange reinforced vibrancy and accessibility. Infographics translated data about diet, probiotics, and digestive habits into humorous, easy to read visuals. Collage like compositions integrated text, icons, and playful characters, creating rhythm and engagement.
Key elements included:
• Logo identity: Hand printed wordmark with a tactile finish.
• Characters: Illustrated “poop patrol” figures adding humour and relatability.
• Infographics: Clear, colourful visualisations of gut health data.
• Collateral: Stickers, calendars, and membership packs extending the brand experience.
The rollout delivered a cohesive, humorous, and educational brand system. By merging printmaking craft with infographic clarity, Knor successfully positioned itself as a playful yet informative wellness brand. The project demonstrates how design can break taboos, turning gut health into a topic that is approachable, memorable, and marketable.
