#XOKE

Description (View/Hide)
Xoca-Clicka uses art direction to turn the familiar visual language of Coca-Cola into a celebration of isiXhosa culture and everyday human connection. The campaign takes the distinctive red, white and black visual world of the brand and combines it with high-contrast, monochromatic product photography to create a bold, contemporary aesthetic.

The central visual device is the Coca-Cola bottle and can, photographed in dramatic close-up and treated almost like objects of cultural significance. The oversized product imagery creates scale and impact, while the stark black-and-white photography contrasts against Coca-Cola's unmistakable red brand field. This creates an immediate visual hierarchy and ensures that the product remains recognisable while allowing the cultural message to take centre stage.

The art direction is deliberately minimal. Large areas of red provide a strong graphic foundation, while oversized photographic crops extend beyond the composition to create tension and movement. The imagery of carbonation, condensation, opening cans and clinking glasses visually reinforces the campaign's idea that everyday sounds can become moments of connection.

Typography is treated as a bold graphic element, with strong uppercase headings and carefully controlled emphasis drawing attention to key ideas such as connection, belonging, togetherness and shared human moments. The result is a visual system that feels distinctly Coca-Cola while remaining fresh, contemporary and culturally relevant.

The hashtag #XOKE provides a concise verbal and visual signature, giving the campaign an ownable identity that connects the concept back to the idea of clicks and shared moments.

Through disciplined composition, dramatic product photography, strong contrast and a deliberately restrained visual language, the art direction transforms ordinary Coca-Cola moments into a visual celebration of isiXhosa connection, culture and belonging.
