Spruit is a hand-carved typeface out of potatoes. It was inspired by the work of the NGO Neighbourhood Gardens, which fosters community gardens in Salt River. The concept revolves around informing people about these community gardens through a zine, accompanied by a promotional tote bag featuring the typeface. By emphasising the irregularities and uniqueness of hand-carved stamps, Spruit captures the essence of nature and community in Salt River.
